Yep, it’s true. I’m a photographer that flies planes. You’re welcome.
Well, as the title states, I’m a photographer that also flies planes. Growing up a Coast Guard brat, it is safe to say that I have been around aviation my entire life. It goes without saying that it is part of my DNA, as well as a huge passion of mine. In 2000, I obtained my pilot’s license and try to fly as often as I can. Since 2017, I wanted to incorporate my two passions of aviation and photography. I often travel to different airshows or flying events to capture everything from vintage aircraft to modern jet fighters. Outside of airshow season, you can find me at some of the local airports plane spotting.
I have plans in the future to incorporate video along with my photography. Whether from the ground, or with GoPro cameras on and in the plane, video is coming soon. I will be adding these videos to my aviation YouTube channel at Skyhawk Heavy. You can also find my aviation work on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Though I will take pictures of any aircraft, I have to admit that I favor General Aviation the most. The majority of my flight time is in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk (hence Skyhawk Heavy). You can read about how I got the callsign by clicking here. I have to admit myself that it is quite entertaining. While you are there, please check out the rest of my aviation website. Who knows, I may even start my own aviation podcast in the future as well.
I appreciate you taking some time to check out my aviation blog “I’m a photographer that also flies planes”. Please take a moment to browse through the Aviation category to view these aircraft through my eyes! Though several are flying, taking off, or landing; I also try to present an artistic view with these steel birds. Thank you again for stopping by and reading my blog!
