Landscape photography has opened my eyes to a new world that previously, I never truly noticed. Yes, I would see a sunset and think it was beautiful. But I did not take the time to see the true beauty of it. So often, we take the world around us for granted. I know that I did. However now, I can sit for hours on a beach or a lake to absorb the last bit of light that the sun provides while admiring the sunset. I can hike for miles to appreciate the serenity and natural beauty of a waterfall.
Landscapes have been proven to also help reduce stress, simply through the heightened sensations of our senses. The colors and scenery visually stimulate our sight sense, the smell of the trees, rivers, lakes, or beaches can be soothing. Also, the sounds of rushing creek water, a waterfall, or waves crashing on the beach or rocks are very relaxing. Since I have started with landscape photography, I notice all of these things so much more and appreciate their beauty! Check back occasionally for more photos!
